Eligibility Criteria For HCL Workmen

Educational Qualifications

• Chargeman (Electrical):
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least one year of supervisory experience in mining installations.
  • Alternatively, ITI in Electrical or Class 10th with relevant supervisory experience and a valid Supervisory Certificate of Competency.
• Electrician ‘A’:
  • ITI in Electrical with four years of experience as an electrician.
  • Class 10th with seven years of experience as an electrician.
  • A valid wireman permit is mandatory.
• Electrician ‘B’:
  • ITI in Electrical with three years of experience or Class 10th with six years of experience.
  • A valid wireman permit is required.
• WED ‘B’:
  • Diploma/Graduation/Class 10th qualifications with relevant work experience.
  • A valid First-Class Winding Engine Driver’s Certificate is essential.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as of January 1, 2025.
• Relaxations:
• SC/ST: +5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
• Meritorious Sports Persons: +5 years (+10 years for SC/ST)
• Ex-Servicemen: As per government directives.

Written Test:

• The test includes objective-type questions in English and Hindi.
• Subjects:
  • Trade-specific knowledge: 80 marks
  • General Knowledge: 20 marks
• Minimum qualifying marks:
  • UR/EWS: 40 marks
  • OBC: 38 marks
  • SC/ST: 35 marks

Trade Test & Writing Ability Test:

1. This is qualifying in nature and evaluates practical skills relevant to the position.
2. Final merit lists will be prepared based on written test scores. In case of ties, factors like Class X percentage and age will be considered.
