Eligibility Details
To be eligible for the NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TN)-Operator:
- Education: HSC (10+2) or ISC in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 50% marks. English at SSC level.
- Age Limit: 18 to 24 years.
- Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TN)-Maintainer:
- Education: SSC (10th) with at least 50% marks in Science and Mathematics, plus 2 years ITI certificate in a relevant trade. English at SSC level.

NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Recruitment Selection Process
- Preliminary Test: A 1-hour exam with 50 multiple-choice questions on Mathematics, Science, and General Awareness. Minimum passing marks are 40% for General candidates and 30% for reserved categories.
- Advanced Test: A 2-hour exam with 50 multiple-choice questions related to the specific trade. Minimum passing marks are 30% for General candidates and 20% for reserved categories.
- Physical Standard Test/Document Verification: For Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (Operator), no skill test is needed. Qualified candidates will be called for Physical Standard Test/Document Verification.
- Skill Test: For Category-II Stipendiary Trainee (Maintainer), a Skill Test will be conducted. The Skill Test is qualifying, and the final selection will be based on Stage-2 exam scores.
