JIPMAT Result Preparation Process
The JIPMAT results are prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the exam and weightage given to other factors like Class 10 and 12 board exam scores and performance in the personal interview process (conducted by the participating IIMs). However, the weightage for these factors is not officially disclosed by the NTA or the IIMs.
- Evaluation of JIPMAT Exam: The NTA evaluates the JIPMAT exam answer sheets based on the final answer key released after the exam.
- Normalization of Scores (if applicable): In case multiple test sessions were conducted, the NTA might normalize the scores to account for any difficulty variations between sessions.
- Merit List Preparation: The IIMs prepare a merit list based on a composite score that considers the JIPMAT score, Class 10 and 12 board exam scores, and the personal interview performance. The weightage for each component may vary between the IIMs.
Qualifying Cut-off Marks
There is no minimum qualifying mark or specific cut-off set by the NTA for JIPMAT. Selection for the IPM program is based on the candidate’s rank in the merit list prepared by the respective IIMs. Generally, securing a high rank in the JIPMAT exam increases your chances of getting shortlisted for the personal interview stage at the IIMs.
Previous Year Trends (Unofficial): While there’s no official cut-off released by the IIMs, referring to previous year trends (unofficial data) might give you a general idea of the competitive range. In 2023, the cut-offs for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu ranged between 90-95 percentile for the general category.
